Under the File tab, under the Help heading, click on Options. I rarely post postivie reviews but Statplus is really underestimated tool. When I purchased StatPlus several years ago, the product claimed to work with Office , despite being marketed for use with the older version. Since then, I have yet to see a single update released to improve compatibility and address several ongoing bugs, such as a recurring problem with "file access" that I haven't been able to resolve with standard troubleshooting i.
No responses to multiple formal requests for support and follow-up inquiries over very long periods of time. At one time, I thought StatPlus was a promising product, but the developers have utterly failed to support my needs as a paying customer. Instead, it has proved to be the worst kind of commercial software: one that was tempting in concept and just affordable enough to lure academic users, yet flawed to point of uselessness.
Beyond being unusable, StatPlus has actively waste my time.
Had their technical staff merely responded to any one of my inquiries, OR had they released a reasonable update, I'm sure this review would be framed quite differently. This review was originally posted on VersionTracker. You could be a student or teacher of statistics, an academic on a budget, a budding researcher. Statmac Plus is worth your time to explore.
If you do not want to export your data to other programmes for statistical analysis and would like to work within Excel, you should look at StatMac Plus. Its only real competitor is XLSTAT which is good but expensive and has withdrawn support for next versions of Excel on the Mac due to dropping of visual Basic functionality in Office by its inventors Microsoft. So realistically StatMac is your only hope.
This does not deter the software from being very competent and increasingly fast and easy to use. The interface is quite simple but little awkward and requires some getting used to. The time investment is no greater than exporting Excel data to another programme.
The Pros and Cons of Using Excel for Statistical Calculations
All the usual options are there and work well. The developers are very responsive and have taken the programme to new performance levels with each update and have promised more.
