My computer is Bit and yet all my installs are automatically set to 32 bit. Due to research i have figured that you have to manually install a Bit version of windows IE if you are on a windows computer.
I require the 64 bit IE to download 64 bit java. I try to download 64 Bit IE and it says i have a more recent version installed which is Bit. I uninstall the 32 bit, try to download the 64 bit and yet it still downloads the nit IE regardless. Try going HERE , it will let you manually select x32 or x64 the downloads are bigger, as these include Java, the normal installer downloads it.
I am not using the old launcher, I have the new launcher, yet I have a similar problem as Malsf21 was talking about. I can only have up to 1 GB allocated to Technic. Please, read the previous comments, and check through every step that's available i. Now you should be able to change your RAM. You need to get the correct Java version.

Sometimes, getting x86 will do the job. Not sure if this helped u or not, or that you might've fixed the problem already. Whoever was talking about vRAM is completely wrong, it has nothing to do with the amount you can allocate. I do have the same problem though and from reading the above solutions, installing 64bit java is the only correct one. If you have over 2gb's of RAM then the launcher will allow you to allocate over 1gb, but that is only if you have 64bit java. Also once you have fixed the problem, please don't allocate all of your available RAM to technic!
Awesome this thred helped Removed it changed to 64bit and now can use 5GB Awesome Thanks. I run x64 Java, Windows 8. I'm having the same problem stated above in which technic pack won't let me set anything above 1GB of RAM allocated.

It looks like even after a year of Minecraft's "full release" that the modding scene in Minecraft has never been more active. There are so many creative modders out there, who refreshed the appeal of Minecraft. Hexxit is successful in fusing the appeal of these over 50 mods in a giant adventure filled package that is bound to bring you hours of additional intense playtime.
You will begin to laugh at Zombies and Creepers once you realise that Hexxit turns the endless Minecraft world into a series of deadly dungeons filled with mobs that will kill you within a matter of seconds if you are not prepared. However, with the increased difficulty, exploration in Minecraft has never been more satisfying. I know this because I spent eight-painstaking-hours making one.
By the end, I wanted to chuck Minecraft into a nearby volcano. Thankfully, the Biospheres mod removes all the annoying obstacles and spawns you into a world where the sky is overrun with various floating biomes. Minecraft doesn't scale too well to the power of fast or slow machines. It runs surprisingly poorly on low-end laptops, and a high-end rig can't do much with its extra oomph.
Enter Optifine—a mod that not only makes Minecraft run faster but also look far better.

But Biomes O'Plenty adds vastly more—75 to be exact—from brushland and coral reefs, through lavender fields and ominous woods, to tundra and wasteland. You'll need to create a new world to use it make sure to select the 'Biomes O'Plenty' world generation option , but it's worth it to see corners of Minecraft that you've never seen before.
Some mods add powerful magical items. Others add intricate machinery.

Botania just adds flowers—but wow, what flowers. Flowers that heal you. Flowers that feed animals. Flowers that turn hostile mobs against each other. Flowers that eat cake. Oh, and did I mention that you've can also use flowers to create a magical portal to a world of elves? If you want to try something wildly different from most other mods, Botania is it.
