Mac 7 1 max memory
At iFixit, we live for breathing new life into broken devices—but what if your Mac is just wheezing and slow? Should you sell it? Leave it unplugged in a drawer for a few more years until you feel less guilty about throwing it away? Answer: none of the above. First things first: an SSD upgrade is, hands down, the best way to speed up your computer. Because there are no moving parts in an SSD, they can read and write information up to 10 times faster than a traditional HDD. This means that boot times, application launch times, and data retrieval get much, much faster when you use an SSD as the primary storage for your computer.
Moreover, SSDs are more resistant to shock, vibration, and movement—making them particularly suited to laptops and other devices that are subject to sudden knocks and bumps. Look at how much space you are using on your current hard drive and round it up to the nearest SSD size or go higher if you want to future-proof your machine. Install more RAM, it will fix the immediate bottle neck.
What is Ramjet+
For a lot of models, it is a simple procedure. We can advise on the best way to upgrade. The reason for this is simple. In most cases the higher density module was release after the iMac or MacBook Pro and Apple never retroactively updates their upgrade information. One example of this is the MacBook Pro. However it is well known that the entire range of MacBook Pros are quite happy to utilise a maximum of 16gb of RAM Memory via 2x8gb modules.
Another popular system that this applies to is the 27" iMac. Apple stated official maximum RAM Memory Utilising 4x4gb modules. Another device that is more then happy having individual 8gb modules instead. Unofficial maximum Utilising 4x8gb modules.
MacBook Pro Upgrade Guide
We have sold thousands of 8gb modules into the iMac range without issue and subsequently making many, many customers very pleased. Customers are now free to add up to 32gb RAM Memory into these iMacs and continue to utilise them far into the future. Upgrading the memory in your computer is usually the first step to increasing it's performance. Additional memory allows you to run more applications simultaneously without the computer slowing down. It also allows you to multi-task to a much greater degree as your applications, email, web browsing, etc.
However additional RAM does not solve all the issues of a "slow" computer.
Can I upgrade my RAM?
If you find that it takes the latest OS a long time to load or your spreadsheets are taking minutes before they are ready to use, then you should consider swapping out your old spinning HDD for an SSD. In a working environment, waiting minutes each time a new program loads or for your computer to be ready to use, is a time consuming and costly exercise.
Added up, wait times increase to hours lost when totaled over the course of just a week. View Cart 0 items My Account. Start Here Select a Series Step 2: Select a Model Please wait while we are loading the items You can switch to your local currency using the dropdown.

Popular Apple community Questions and Answers. Just a little confused as I have been informed that not having the correct speed could cause problems, can you mix these or you just need to stick with one. Apple correctly rounded up the technical term to mhz.
The rest of the industry rounded the technical term down to mhz. Its the same RAM and whoever you spoke to before is not really correct sorry if they are a relative or close friend, but this is pretty common knowledge amongst memory people. Would you please post an image of where that claim is made. It is information that may be useful for other MBP owners including my self.
Can you see the image above your post? Sometimes they do not display correctly, or there may be a lag in ASC. In case you cannot, it is a screenshot from OWC indicating 16 GB but with the caveat it is for the 2. What I find curious is that only the 13" MBP with 2. I happen to have a 17" MBP with a 2. Obviously there must be other differences involved here.
I think this will warrant a call to the OWC technical department to satisfy my curiosity. It merits a call to OWC technical because despite the fact that only a few of us have "cats" for icons, most of us hace the same fatal feline flaw Dec 27, PM in response to steve In response to steve The first half of my statement was just tongue in cheek.
